35mm Negative and 35mm Slide Scanning

Your charge include 1 CD-ROM disc and up to 125 scanned 35mm negatives or slides.*

Only 35mm negatives are accepted for the negative scanner. Only 35mm slides are accepted for the slide scanner.

Negatives and slides will be returned with your CD-ROM.

JLICGS can only accept loose negatives and slides. Negatives and slides glued or taped into a mounting, with adhesive or glue residue, or in a storage system or method cannot be processed.

It is not possible to scan negatives and slides in a certain order but JLICGS will make an effort to scan them in the order they are received.

Negative images that have been cut (are not full images) cannot be processed. Slides that do not have a full mounting (the white cardboard around the image) cannot be processed.

Orders must consist only of slides or negatives. Combinations of slides and negatives cannot be accepted.

The recommended method for submitting your negatives and slides for the negative and slide scanning service is as follows:

Remove all negatives and slides from their current storage method. Set aside any with staples, paper clips, adhesives, or ones that are incomplete (cut, not full images).

Place every negative and slide facing the same direction right side up. If a negative or group of negatives are submitted upside down or backward they will be scanned upside down or backward.

Place the negatives in a regular envelope or use multiple envelopes. Place slides in a box (plastic shoe boxs work great) and use rolled newspaper or other lint free paper to fill extra space.

35mm Negative and Slide Scanning service orders up to 125 photographs scanned or until CD is full - $18 each.

Due to the amount of time it takes to complete this process there is 750 photograph maximum per order, per transaction limit.

* This is an estimated amount and may vary with the size of the scanned photographs and other variables. 125 images per CD estimate is based on scanning 3"x5" photographs.

** Mild Color Restoration uses special software to automatically determine what the original photographs color may have looked like. It must be applied to the entire order. For Mild Color Restoration with Economy Scanning and 35mm Negative Scanning, each image will be saved to the CD as a scanned original and as a color restored image and therefor each image will be counted as two images. Please keep in mind that using this service will decrease the number of scanned photographs that can fit on a CD or DVD. This color restoration is good for most fading. For a stronger color restoration please use the Custom Scanning service.
